New Horizons for Seniors Program Information Sessions

OTTAWA – Mark Strahl, MP for Chilliwack-Hope, invites organizations with projects led or inspired by seniors to prepare their applications for a Federal Grant through the New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP).

The NHSP helps to ensure seniors will benefit from, and contribute to, the quality of life in their communities through active living and participation in social activities.

In anticipation of the 2017 NHSP Call for Proposals, the Government of Canada will provide information to help you with the preparation of your application. Projects must be led or inspired by seniors and address one or more of the following five program objectives:

•promoting volunteerism among seniors and other generations;

•engaging seniors in the community through the mentoring of others;

•expanding awareness of elder abuse, including financial abuse;

•supporting the social participation and inclusion of seniors; and

•providing capital assistance for new and existing community projects and/or programs for seniors.
