The Waste Report

Canadians are just starting to file their 2019 tax returns and learning how much of their hard-earned income they will need to send to Ottawa this year. Canadians expect to pay taxes – they fund the social programs and infrastructure that we use every day – but they don’t expect to see those tax dollars frittered away on corporate welfare or wasted on expensive trips and trinkets. But that’s exactly what’s happening under Justin Trudeau. Instead of respecting tax dollars, he’s wasting them at an unprecedented rate. Here are just a few examples.

In 2015, Justin Trudeau promised he would make life more affordable for families. He promised he’d run small deficits before bringing Canada’s budget back to balance. He promised a lot of things.

And yet, here we are. Trudeau has added $72 billion to the national debt and Canadian families can’t get ahead.
So, what did Justin Trudeau do with your tax dollars exactly?

He gave $50 million to Mastercard, a company that made $16 billion in 2019. He gave $12 million to Loblaws – one of Canada’s largest grocery chains – to buy fridges that they didn’t need. He spent $1.6 million on his disastrous trip to India. Then there was the purchase of 56 coat hooks for a two-year-old office building, to the tune of $5,000. He even spent $14,000 on a single TV.

But this is just the beginning. There are millions of dollars more in waste to uncover. Canadians deserve to know what they’ve gotten as a result of the biggest government spending spree in Canadian history.
