MP Mark Strahl Highlights BC Storm Disaster Assistance and Mental Health Resources

OTTAWA – Mark Strahl, Member of Parliament for Chilliwack—Hope, provided an update from Parliament Hill today regarding resources for those affected by the BC Storm in our community to help them to rebuild and recover.

“It has been one month since the BC Storm crisis impacted our community. I wanted to check in to ensure that you are taking care of yourselves and each other, with the help of resources available to you.”

Disaster Financial Assistance (DFA) is available for eligible British Columbians who were affected by flooding and landslides from November 14 to December 2, 2021. Apply for DFA online here: www.gov.bc.ca/disasterfinancialassistance

“Natural disasters can take a toll on mental health, especially those that were directly impacted or helped those that were directly impacted. If you find that you are struggling or need someone to talk to, please reach out and use these mental health supports to help you get through this difficult time.”
