MP Strahl Encourages Community Spirit Through Canadian Pride; Hosts Canada Day Flag Contest

CHILLIWACK – Mark Strahl, Member of Parliament for Chilliwack—Hope, invites Chilliwack—Hope residents to celebrate Canada Day through his “Let’s Show Our Canadian Pride” brochure with a #ChilliwackHopeCelebratesCanada contest.

This summer, large gatherings in our community, including our Canada Day celebrations, have been cancelled due to public health guidelines. MP Strahl has created an alternate way to celebrate, through his “Let’s Show Our Canadian Pride” brochure. Featuring a Canadian flag inside, it will be delivered by mail to every household in Chilliwack—Hope.

Celebrate Canada Day 2020 by displaying your Canadian flag poster in your window or on your door before July 1st. Take a picture of your Canadian flag and share it on social media with the hashtag #ChilliwackHopeCelebratesCanada for your chance to win a 3’x 6’ Canadian flag from MP Strahl’s office.

“Canada Day has always been a time to get together with friends and family to celebrate everything that makes our country so great,” said MP Strahl. “This year will be different, but just because we will be physically apart doesn’t mean that we can’t still celebrate together. That’s why I created this Canada Day brochure. I’m asking you to show your love for our country and show your community spirit by putting the Canadian flag from my brochure up in your window or on your front door.”

“My hope is that seeing these Canadian flags up across our community will not only serve as a reminder of all of the blessings we have as Canadians, but will show our family, friends and neighbours our shared commitment to standing on guard for Canada and to work together to keep it united, glorious and free, especially during these trying times,” said MP Strahl.

#ChilliwackHopeCelebratesCanada Contest

There is a contest for those who display their Canadian flag poster and post a photo of it to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #ChilliwackHopeCelebratesCanada.

Contest entrants will have a chance to win one of ten 3’x 6’ Canadian flags from MP Strahl’s office. Winners will be selected by random draw.

Chilliwack—Hope residents who don’t use social media can still enter the contest by sharing your photo with MP Strahl by email at mark.strahl@parl.gc.ca and he will post it on his social media channels so they have a chance to win.
