Standing up for Victims’ Rights

It has been quite a week here in Ottawa. Two very important victims’ rights cases have come before the House of Commons. 

Chris Garnier, a convicted cop-killer who never served a day in the military is currently receiving veterans’ benefits for his PTSD. When we demanded that these benefits be cut off immediately, the Liberals voted instead to maintain them.

Tori Stafford’s killer has been moved from a medium-security prison to a minimum security healing lodge that doesn’t even have a fence around it. When we demanded that Tori’s killer immediately be moved back to a real prison, Justin Trudeau refused.

Conservatives believe that victims’ rights should come before the rights of criminals. We will continue to demand that Justin Trudeau take action to fix these outrageous decisions.
