Conservatives have forced a vote in the House of Commons on whether or not convicted cop-killer Chris Garnier, who never served a day in the Canadian Armed Forces, should be receiving PTSD payments from Veterans Affairs. The 30-year-old claims he developed PTSD as a result of the murder he committed and is claiming veterans benefits because his father is a veteran. Conservatives believe that our veterans, not convicted murderers, should receive veterans’ benefits. We’ve been asking Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to end these benefits for Chris Garnier for a month, and instead he has endorsed them. Canadians will be watching to see how individual Members of Parliament vote on this issue tonight at 5:45 pm Eastern time.
