MP Strahl announces Canada Summer Jobs Funding Application Period Now Open

CHILLIWACK-HOPE – The application period for Canada Summer Jobs 2017 begins today. This is an excellent program designed to create summer employment opportunities for students.

This is an excellent program designed to create summer employment opportunities for students.  Canada Summer Jobs applications will be available at Service Canada Centres and online at servicecanada.gc.ca/csj.  Applications must be submitted by January 20, 2017. Employers will be able to complete and submit their applications online, by mail or in person. Please note that submission by fax is not available.  It is important for employers to ensure their applications are submitted before the deadline closes as late submissions are not accepted.

“There are a large number of small businesses, non-profits, and community organizations throughout Chilliwack-Hope who rely on this funding every summer and I want to ensure they know applications are now being accepted,” Strahl said. “I also want to get the word out to employers who have not heard about the program.”

Canada Summer Jobs is a program that provides funding to help employers create summer job opportunities for students.  In 2016, 57 projects were approved, employing 177 students throughout Chilliwack-Hope.
