Virtual Art Gallery – Jutta And Michael Schulz

To promote artists and photographers in Chilliwack and Hope, Member of Parliament Mark Strahl is showcasing local art and photographs in his Parliamentary office. Mark is encouraging local artists and photographers from across the riding to submit their work, along with their bio and contact information. Artwork is also featured on Mark’s website:www.markstrahl.com.

This month’s feature is an artistic husband-and-wife duo, Jutta and Michael Schulz who were born in Germany, and now reside in Rosedale, B.C. Digital photography is their passion, with diverse subject matter ranging from macro to landscape images. Jutta and Michael also enjoy creating abstract and minimalistic photographs and use different light sources in innovative ways. They are both self and peer-taught.

Jutta and Michael show their images in galleries (solo and group exhibitions) in the Fraser Valley as well as in several international online galleries. In 2009 and 2010, they won several prizes at local competitions for their photographs.

Jutta and Michael have two photographs featured in the Art Gallery Wall in Mark’s Ottawa office. The first photograph is called Watch Out!, taken by Julia Schulz. The second photgraph is called Transparent, taken by Michael Schulz. Both photographs have been printed on high quality metal, bringing out the vibrant accent colours in each piece, and adding a glossy, lively effect to the water ripples and droplets. Every metal photograph print by Michael and Jutta are unique, and only produced once.

“It is once again my distinct honour to showcase local art in my Parliamentary office. Jutta and Michael have award-winning talent” said Mark. “I celebrate their accomplishments in producing these eye-catching digital works of art. I encourage other local artists to submit their artwork for future exhibits”.

Fellow Parliamentarians, as well as visitors from across Canada and around the world, will have an opportunity to take in the works of Jutta and Michael. In accordance with the artist’s wishes, works will be exhibited in the gallery for several weeks before being returned to the artist, donated to local charities, or presented as gifts to visiting delegations.  A new artist will be featured every month.

Those interested in this opportunity are asked to contact Mark’s office for more information at 604-847-9711 or mark.strahl@parl.gc.ca.
